Something New

It's undeniable that I am a shoe-obsessed.  I've never met a shoe I didn't like.  Well, that's not entirely true, but shoes are the way to my heart.  If you don't believe ask, The Pirate.  While, I'm no stranger to a high heel, sometimes a low heel comes along and sparks a new love affair.  These little heels remind me of something out of my grandma's closet, but with a modern twist, Hello, shiny captoe! :)  The lower heel also gives my used-and-abused-high-heeled-wearing-feet a break, without sacrificing style.  If you want a pair, get yours here.

Looking back at this month, I wore a ton of polka dots.  Along with leopard print, polka dots are easily becoming one of my favorite prints to wear.  It's basically a neutral.  I love this sequin polka dot top I got from J.Crew.  I only wish I got it in the white and black version, too.  Well, I hope you lovelies enjoyed your February.  Tomorrow is a new month and I'm so excited because I get to celebrate two very special occasions with the Pirate; his birthday and our wedding anniversary.  Yippee!!!

Bunnies & Brocade

I'm a sucker for cute and quirky prints.  So, when I saw this dress on the sale rack, I knew immediately it would come home with me.  At first glance it looks like your run-of-the-mill, polka dot dress, but after closer examination, the print is actually little bunnies.  OMGeez!  Super cute, right?  And the fact that the dress has pockets, totally sealed the deal.  The weekend is almost here!  I can just taste it. Chat soon. :)

Rainbows and Unicorns

Today's weather included, rain, wind, sleet, and snow!  Okay, maybe not sleet and snow, but it surely was a blustery day filled with lots of rain and wind!  I love days like this, when we get a break from the sun, but what I love most is what comes after the rain... rainbows!  And you know what comes with rainbows... unicorns!  Haha. I keed, I keed.   This unicorn sweater did keep me nice and warm, though.  And a little rain won't stop me from wearing these newly acquired sky high heels.  I love the metal heel and the rounded toe makes my feet look teeny tiny, almost doll like!  If you want a pair, get one from My Hot Shoes and don't forget, you can save 20%, simply enter "Sharon" at check out. :)

You are the Polka to my Dot

I'm still on a polka dot high.  My friend, Becks of oomph sent me these adorable polka dot skinnies.  Thanks, Becks!!!  I absolutely love them.  They're super comfy and fit perfectly.  I couldn't resist pairing them with bright pink heels and a bright lippy.  A blush tone sweater with spike details and my mint suede faux croc clutch added more interest to the look, without going over-the-top.  After closer examination, I realized that half of this look was gifted to me (thanks, friends!), AND my signature Rayban aviators are missing in action.  Gah!  Now you know what's hiding under those sunnies... my hideous-under-eye-bags!  ew.  I'm also in desperate need of a haircut.  Ok.  Enough whining.  I hope your week if off to a great start!!  LOVE DAY is in 3 days, any fun plans?

Chat soon, lovelies.

Dot Dot Dot

Don't you just love polka dots?  I surely do.  My amazingly talented friend, Katie Browne of Box 11 sent over this rad polka dot blouse.  I love love love the bold polka dots mixed with the itty bitty ones. The lace pocket is a fabulous detail as well.  Made from thrifted & vintage fabrics, this blouse is one-of-kind, which means no one else has it!  Yippee.  Because I don't really believe in the rule; "less is more", I decided to go for the gusto and throw on a sequin blazer, carry a leopard clutch, and strut in one of the most bright heels I own.  Some may say it's outrageously overdone look, but I say it's my cheer-up-only-three-more-days-until-the-weekend outfit.

Remember, you can still save 15% off (code: elisharon) your Box 11 purchase, and free shipping is currently available for all Hawaii orders.  Along with Katie's super cute tops, dresses, and quirky card designs, she's recently created, the Slouchy Shoulder Bag.  Check it out, you'll surely adore it. :)

Horizontal

Apart from leopard print, stripes are my go-to print of choice.  It's become such a staple in so many of our wardrobes, that it's really more of a neutral.  It goes with everything!  The same is said with my beloved leopard print.  Enter, the outfit below.  This navy and white striped maxi dress couldn't go more perfectly with this chunky knit sweater.  A cinched waist and an over-sized tote, both in leopard print, brought the whole look together.  Don't forget your wrist bling, and you're ready to face the day!

What's your favorite or go-to print?

Weekend Lace

Lace is normally associated with things are that are more "fanciful" or "formal".  When I came across with rad lace dress, I knew it would be one of my weekend go-to's.  It's meant as a beach cover up, but I decided to layer it over silk chemise and pair it with my trusty cargo jacket and rubber wedge booties for a no-fail weekend look.  Is it just me, or did this weekend whisk by? How did you spend yours?

Camo Cool

Added another piece to my camo print arsenal.  If you ever seen me sporting a camouflage suit, I give you permission to virtually slap me!!  Camo print is cool, but in small doses. :)  I've pretty much been living in these skinnies for the past few days.  I love that there is very minimal stretch, yet fits quite well.   I'm thinking of hemming them just a tad, but I can live with the minuscule bunching.  Are you a fan of camo prints? If so, how do you wear your camo?

Valley Girl

An impromptu trek into the valley this weekend left me wanting to go back for more, sans the heeled booties and the faux fur.  Maui is such a gorgeous place, and a lot of times I take it for granted.  I've pretty much been living in this dress.  It's so comfy and cozy, and combines two of my loves; a pirate and a kitty.  Here's to a great week, guys.  I can't believe we're already 4 weeks into 2013.  Whoa!!

Plaid on Plaid

Today was my first day back to school.  I'm really excited for this semester because I get to work with knit fabrics.  I've always been intimidated working with knits, because they can be quite finicky, so I'm hoping that this course will allow me to hone in those skills needed to sew knit fabrics with more confidence.  I can't wait!

This plaid blazer is probably one of my fave thrift finds.  I love the shorter length and the shoulder pads.  Yeah, I dig a strong shoulder. :)  I've been on the hunt for some sequin pants and I happened to stumble across these the other week, while on the way to the ladies room in Macy's.  haha!  I like that they're jeans and that only the front half is covered in sequins.  Pretty unique if you ask me, and I don't have to worry about snagging any sequins when I sit down.  The price point was a steal, too.  What new sartorial pieces have entered your closet lately?

Drape

I've had this dress for almost two years now and it's still one of my faves.  I love the front drape of the dress, because it's figure flattering and conceals my imperfections.  It's been blustery here in the islands, so my trusty men's camouflage print shirt jacket has been my go-to to keep warm.  The Pirate also suggested that I throw it over this ensemble to down play and toughen up the feminine vibe of the look.  I can't say it enough, I'm super lucky to be married to a guy who loves fashion as much as I do.  Soak up the last few moments of the weekend and I'll see you lovelies in a bit... ciao!

Hello 2013!

Hello 2013!  I welcome you with open arms, because I know this year will be incredible.  2012 was great, but this year will be better.  It will be a year for redemption, new adventures, and amazing opportunities.  I can't wait to see what this year has in store.

I want to thank all my readers both old and new.  Thank you for supporting me and my little blog.  I'm thankful for all your sweet comments and emails.  I hope you'll continue to stick around.  I'm also grateful for all the friends that I've made through my blog.  If it wasn't for the common interest of fashion, we would have never met.

Here, I give you my first look book of 2013.  A little something sweet to start off the year...
