Valley Girl

An impromptu trek into the valley this weekend left me wanting to go back for more, sans the heeled booties and the faux fur.  Maui is such a gorgeous place, and a lot of times I take it for granted.  I've pretty much been living in this dress.  It's so comfy and cozy, and combines two of my loves; a pirate and a kitty.  Here's to a great week, guys.  I can't believe we're already 4 weeks into 2013.  Whoa!!

Furry Feline

Taking decent outfit photos while in high wind territory is a near impossible feat, especially when you're rockin' a full fringe.  These photos took forever to capture and they were the "best" out of the bunch.  Oh the things fashion bloggers do for photos.  Haha.  If you've been following my blog for sometime now, you know I have a affinity for fur.  I love me a fun fur coat.  I got this jacket almost a year ago, and last weekend was the first time I wore it out.  I adore the cropped length.  A lot of people ask how I can wear a fur out here in paradise.  Believe it or not, this fur came in handy when we went to see the sunrise on Haleakala last Sunday morning.  The temperature dropped to the low 40's (high 30's)! CRAZY!  And the wind chill made it seem even colder.  It was worth it though, because the sunrise was spectacular, almost surreal, and definitely magical.  It's truly an experience all visitors (and locals) that come to Maui need to witness.

Gotta go, trying to finish up my Christmas shopping.  Hopefully, I can get it done in 4 days!

BIG

Sometimes bigger is better.  The Pirate scored me the Big Lita from Solestruck's annual Black Friday sale.  Aren't they so rad?  I was a tad skeptical about them at first.  All I could think about was toppling down a flight of stairs; stairs are my worse enemy.  I slipped these on, trotted around, and they were actually super easy to walk in.  Paired with my new leather pleated dress and a fur (both faux!), I felt unstoppable!  Currently, they're my new favorite shoes, but I don't dare say that too loud.  I'd hate for my other shoes to feel left out. ^_^.  I'm also in love with my new NYX Matte Lipstick (PERFECT RED) that I picked up from my local drugstore.  It's the perfect shade of red (with a blue undertone), a great matte finish, super affordable ($5 a tube) and long lasting power, too.  I would totally recommend it.  Happy Tuesday-ing, loves.

Daytime sparkles

Who says sequins are only appropriate for night time affairs?! Not, I.  Sequins is great for any and every occasion.  I wore this today to work.  The faux fur jacket was a great idea for the office, where temps get to near freezing!, but it was definitely not appropriate for these outdoor photos.  Let me tell ya', I was sporting a sweatstache in between snaps.  It was not a pretty sight!  Don't you just love this location where I shot my photos?  It's the Banyan Tree in Lahaina town.  It's one of the largest banyan trees in the US and this year it celebrated it's 139th birthday.  Amazing!

I recently discovered olive + piper.  They offer amazing and affordable costume jewelry.  I especially love that they carry statement pieces like the Neon Statement Necklace.  You'll surely get noticed while rocking that piece.  It's on sale right now (along with a lot of other great pieces) through Monday, so you should totally snag one before it's gone.  It would be perfect for a holiday party, night out with your guy or girlfriends, or paired with a white tee, jeans, and ballet flat combo for a day of running errands.  The lovely Tania sent me these bracelets.  Isn't the heart bangle adorable?  And who doesn't love a great spike bracelet!? The quality of these pieces are top notch, and I love that they have good weight to them.  Definitely not your flimsy-fall-apart-after-one-use piece of costume jewelry.  I also love that they don't turn my skin green!  Surely, these pieces will get tons of use!

Me and my boo, rockin' his UNIF Hellraisers. solemates. ;)

Furball

Another chewie to add to the collection.  It's become apparent that I'm living in the wrong part of the world.  My destiny is to live in a much cooler climate, so I can wear fur without getting strange stares glares from passers-by.  I can't help myself when it comes to (faux) fur... the more, the merrier!  I did get quite a few compliments about the fur today.  Strangely enough, they were from the over 60 crowd.  Go figure.
