Pumps and cut-offs

For the past couple of months, I've been drawn to more sleek shoe silhouettes.  I've also added quite a few pairs of pumps to my shoedrobe.  I love the look of a pointy toe heel.  It elongates my vertically challenged frame.  I also think a great heel makes any look, even cut-offs, have a more polished feel.  Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Lita girl at heart. :)

Olive + Piper sent me this pretty lioness bangle.  I love the fiery red color and it's so perfectly me.  I'm a Leo, if you didn't know.  :)  Check out Olive + Piper for other amazing baubles.  And I also received this sweet delicately hand stamped necklace from  Amy of Junghwa by Amy Stewart.  She handcrafts these necklaces (and other pretties!) herself.

Enjoy soaking up the rest of the weekend!

Furry Feline

Taking decent outfit photos while in high wind territory is a near impossible feat, especially when you're rockin' a full fringe.  These photos took forever to capture and they were the "best" out of the bunch.  Oh the things fashion bloggers do for photos.  Haha.  If you've been following my blog for sometime now, you know I have a affinity for fur.  I love me a fun fur coat.  I got this jacket almost a year ago, and last weekend was the first time I wore it out.  I adore the cropped length.  A lot of people ask how I can wear a fur out here in paradise.  Believe it or not, this fur came in handy when we went to see the sunrise on Haleakala last Sunday morning.  The temperature dropped to the low 40's (high 30's)! CRAZY!  And the wind chill made it seem even colder.  It was worth it though, because the sunrise was spectacular, almost surreal, and definitely magical.  It's truly an experience all visitors (and locals) that come to Maui need to witness.

Gotta go, trying to finish up my Christmas shopping.  Hopefully, I can get it done in 4 days!

The best way to get something done is to begin

Summer is fast approaching.  Before we know it, we'll all be sizzling!!  And of course I live in the hottest town on the island... thank goodness for tradewinds.  My hair looks disheveled in these pics.  I kind of like it.

And congratulations to Leah, who won The Pagestoppers Giveaway.  Thanks to everyone who participated in the giveaway.  You can still get your very own Pagestopper, just hop on over to Grace's shop, click here.

Pooma also wanted me to tell everyone, "Arf ruff ruff arf arf arf. Ruff ruff ruff arf arf."  Which means, "Thanks for all your lovely comments!  You guys are the best!"

Well, I've got tons to do and so little time.  Why do I always do things last minute!?

Pooma is TWO (and a haircut)

Yesterday was our "dog"ter's 2nd Birthday!  Yes, Pooma is Two!  I was never really a dog person (more of a kitty lover), but when my hubby surprised me at work with Pooma, it was love at first sight!  She's brought a lot of love and joy into our lives and she really is like our little daughter.  I'm looking forward to many more years with her.  Happy Birthday Pooma, mommy and daddy love you.

**These pictures were from a while back... and don't worry there is no beer in there.. but she sure did love licking the bottle!

I also got a haircut yesterday.  Eight inches of my beautiful dry and damaged locks are now gone!  My hair feels healthy and so much lighter.  I wanted to try a completely different look from what I've been sporting for the past few years, but I'm not ready.  I will be one day, but now I'm happy with my long-ish locks. :)

Random thought:  Several years ago (when I was much TANNER! and teenier)... I was at the beach sitting near the shoreline in my bikini and an older couple comes up to me and the woman tells me, "Those are the blackest knees I've ever seen!".  I laughed.  Everytime I look at my knees now, I'm reminded of that couple.  Some may think they were rude for telling me that, but it was just so random, all I can do is laugh about it. :)

My domesticated goddess duties beckon... ta ta for now. :)

Rainy Days and Mondays

... never get me down.

It was rainy today.  I had the day off.  It was a great day!  Took these pics before the rain came...

{dress - Jean Paul Gaultier for Target, wedges - Nine West, belt - F21}

Played with the draping of the dress and made a makeshift shrug.

I'm also super stoked because I was one of the lucky winners of this beautiful bracelet from Amy's {junghwa by amy stewart} Rope Bracelet's Giveaway.

I can't wait to wear it!  Thanks again Amy for picking me!!  If you lovelies don't know Amy yet, definitley check out her BLOG and also her ETSY STORE.  She's a total sweetheart and is uber creative too! You're gonna want everything in her shop!  I know I do. :)

One thing that did make me a bit sad... was my failed attempt to find a boater hat.  My head is large and in charge... there is no hat on the planet that fits my head. :(

Pretty little things

A few flowers and fruits around the house :)

{hibiscus, orchid, ???, starfruit, calamansi, caramay}

No outfit post today because I was in my "work uniform" and I'd rather not share that.. :)  I did receive a pleasant surprise in my mailbox when I got home.  My two cute little pouches from Junghwa by Amy Stewart arrived.  They're so pretty.  Can't wait to use them.  Check out her Etsy shop here.

Remember a few weeks ago when I said I'd be hitting the gym, well I had to up that on the back burner because my toe began swelling up again.  Today is my day though!  I'm excited to go back, but I'm sure my body will be in for a surprise.  I'm hope I can make it through Spin.

Hope everyone had a great first of the month.
