Geometry

Hey guys!  Did you have a great Thanksgiving?  I surely did.  It was filled with family, friends, laughter, and of course food!  If you follow me on Instagram (@elisharon), you can see some the deliciousness that went into my belly.

In the spirit of Black Friday, I wanted to share with you guys the awesome deals happening over at V Nunes.  Designer Veronica is offering up to 40% off her entire site. (sale will run from today until the 27th!) Remember this gorgeous Build ring, you can score you very own at an awesome deal!  It also comes in silver!

I'm also thrilled about her newest collection; The Open Ring Collection: Inspired by basic geometric forms, symbols and positive and negative spaces.  I love the timelessness each piece has and that they are also unisex.

My favorite piece would be the Geometric design.  Pop on over to Veronica's site and peruse through all her gorgeous designs.  These would make great Christmas gifts!!  Happy Shopping everyone!  And to those that braved the actual madness in the stores on this Black Friday, I'd love to hear what you got!

Golden

As a teen, the color gold never really appealed to me.  When picking out jewelry, silver was always the victor. Over the years, my love for gold has surely grown.  When looking at my jewelry collection most things are gold and even other accessories, like my handbags, have gold hardware.  The other week I saw this micro pleated gold mini, hanging on the rack by it's lonesome self and just my luck, it was my size.  I love that there are hidden pockets and an elastic waistband (perfect for the upcoming holidays, hahaha!) for ease and comfort.  I just wished I could have captured the true gold hue of the skirt.  Perhaps, another time.

It's beginning to feel a little bit like fall, here in Hawaii.  Well, at least what we locals consider "fall".  haha.  I love fall because, we get to buss out the booties.  These cognac booties are a great staple and every girl should own a pair.  They go with just about anything and the low heel is great to strut around in all day long. The tassel detail is a great touch.  If you want to get yourself a pair, visit, my hot shoes.  And don't forget, you can save 20% off your purchase by entering: sharon at check out.  :)

Why, hello there!

These heels have been seen all over the blogosphere.  This is my second time wearing them and although they are pretty on, I have to admit they are not the comfiest pair I own.  Maybe with a little more wear, they feel better on the toesies.  Meet my new favorite bracelet.  Picked it up from Bamboo Sky.  I love the encrusted-rose gold-spikey-goodness!

Sorry that I haven't blogged so much lately.  We went on our little Oahu-get-a-way last week.  It was so much fun and we ate a ton of food!!  I only took snaps with my phone, so I'll do a post later this week.  I've been buried under a ton of projects, work, school, and also two upcoming fashion shows!!  So busy, but having so much fun. :)  Now, only if I could clone myself, I'd get all these things done in half the time.  Or I need to find me a great seamstress.  Any takers?

Here's to a great week, ladies (and 'gents).  Muah!!

I've got Pep(lum) in my step!

I've never met a peplum I didn't like.  Women of all shapes and sizes can pull off the peplum look, it's just finding the right peplum for your shape and size.  Since I'm quite curvy and my waist-to-hip ratio differs by more than 10 inches, a fitted peplum is normally what I fancy.  It allows me to show my curves, but still accentuates a cinched waist.  I wanted to try something different; a loose-fit peplum.  I made this top last year and yesterday was the first time I wore it out.  I questioned that the loose fit would make me appear larger, but I think it actually works for my body type.  And pairing this top with a flared jean is a perfect counterbalance.  I'll probably try to make this top office appropriate and mix it with a printed pencil skirt.

Are you a peplum type of gal?  Or is this a style that is out of your element?

Build

I adore jewelry that make statements.  They don't have to be "showy" pieces, but they do need to be interesting and inspiring.  That's what I love about V Nunes Jewelry.  Veronica Nunes is brilliant at creating amazingly gorgeous modern pieces.  Let's meet the woman behind the line...

Tell us a little about yourself
I am a jewelry designer and goldsmith and native from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since an early age, I have had a great passion for designing and crafting small objects. My first contact with jewelry design came while studying at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) with a degree in product design. I immediately identified with the jewelry crafting process and the opportunity it provided to express my design ideas into small wearable pieces of art. As a product designer, I am focused on designing attractive wearable objects that will enhance the human body form as well as will fit the body comfortably, ergonomically.

Where do you find inspiration (for your jewelry line? Etc...)
The natural environment as well as man made objects inspires me. My hometown is filled with beautiful beaches, lush forest and iconic rock peaks that served as inspiration for my first collection. Now that I have made NYC my second home, I’ve been inspired by the diversity of architecture, people, objects and human made landscapes in the city.

What type if girl do you see wearing your designs?
I design jewelry for the modern independent woman, who has her own personality and style. I design pieces to make them feel elegant, confident and feminine at any occasion.

Your fashion icon? And favorite designer?
Costanza Pascolato, Antonio BernardoIf you could style one famous person with your designs, who would it be?
If I could style one famous person, would be Madonna.

Hop on over to see Veronica's complete jewelry line; V Nunes.  You will not be disapointed!  And you'll want to own everything! I know I do. :)

Here's the rest of my ootd.  I'm really lovin' the pink and red trend, but wasn't ready to go so bold with the pink, so I think this micro check shirt is the perfect way to ease into the trend.  Baby steps, right?  Happy Hump Day, loves!

Feeling "Official"

Today was my first day of draping.  It was really exciting to actually manipulate fabric on the dress form to create a garment versus flat pattern making.  The fabric comes to life in front of your eyes!  We started with draping a sloper.  I won't lie, it's not as easy as I thought it would be, but I'm sure this semester will be tons of fun.  Like I told everyone today... "Draping feels more 'design-y'". lol.

This look is actually from last week when the weather was a little cooler.  It wasn't "cool" enough to wear a fur (when is it really in Hawaii?!), but I was in the office the whole day and our office is FREEZING!
