I've got Pep(lum) in my step!

I've never met a peplum I didn't like.  Women of all shapes and sizes can pull off the peplum look, it's just finding the right peplum for your shape and size.  Since I'm quite curvy and my waist-to-hip ratio differs by more than 10 inches, a fitted peplum is normally what I fancy.  It allows me to show my curves, but still accentuates a cinched waist.  I wanted to try something different; a loose-fit peplum.  I made this top last year and yesterday was the first time I wore it out.  I questioned that the loose fit would make me appear larger, but I think it actually works for my body type.  And pairing this top with a flared jean is a perfect counterbalance.  I'll probably try to make this top office appropriate and mix it with a printed pencil skirt.

Are you a peplum type of gal?  Or is this a style that is out of your element?

I love the peplum silhouette! And I can't believe you made the top yourself, it looks awesome! There was a peplum dress I was hunting for last season, and never ended up being able to find it.. Hopefully the spring/summer collections can bring something along my way!

I can't believe the top is a DIY! I was seriously thinking there was no way it's not designer, but now I'm kind of sad to see that it's a DIY! What can I say, I love my instant gratification when it comes to clothes. And paired with the flares, so glam!! LOVE THIS.

I love a good peplum too because I also have a big hip to waist ratio! I love how you styled it with flared pants, because I've only ever worn my peplum pieces with something fitted on the bottom. You look lovely! Also, I can't wait to see how your leather peplum shell turns out and I'm definitely looking forward to the potential possibility of commissioning you to make one for me too, hehe!

Have a great week my dear!

When I saw "pep", I thought you meant Pep-to Bismol, hahahaha... Obviously not :p Love how you mimicked the flare-ness of that peplum top with your spectacular flared jeans! And your X-O ring is so adorable. Where did you get it from? AE or V Nunes? MAJOR want! :D

I totally thought that peplum wouldn't be flattering on my body shape, but was so pleasantly surprised! I agree that it looks great on all shapes, and I especially love your peplum top! Great pairing with the leopard print :)
