Warm tones

Everyone is slowly bidding summer adieu, whilst I'm here basking in the land of the perpetual summer.  Just because we don't have distinct seasons in Hawaii, doesn't mean I don't like to dress the part.  I mean, c'mon, I own several faux fur vests and coats!  It'll be a nice change of pace to wear more earthy tones and warm colors to bring in the new season.  SheInside sent over this lovely dress.  I love how the warm tones are offset by the coolness of teal stripe.  I also love the irregular hemline of the dress.  The movement of the dress while I walk surely makes me feel like a lady. :)   I revisited my Jeffrey Campbell shoe collection and decided that these babies needed some love.  These were the 2nd pair of JC's I bought... 3 years ago!

Hai!

Hi guys!  Sorry for being m.i.a. all last week.  I was battling yet again another cold.  I just had the flu in April!!  Luckily this time around it was just a little cold.  I was confined to my bedroom for 4 long days.  The Pirate was a trooper and took care of me.  He also let me be extra whiny. ha ha. I kid! well, half kid.  ^_^  My instagram, twitter, and facebook feeds were a vital part to my recovery and sanity.  It really does suck being sick and stuck in the confines of your home.  I could not wait to get up and get out!  The Pirate did boost my mood by surprising me with these new rad ass kicks.  He is the best!  Sure, my collection of Jeffrey Campbell shoes seems minuscule in comparison to JC Queen, Asami a.k.a. Pink Kitten, but these are my 7th pair of Litas.  Lucky number Seven!  I'm sure my lovely Mae and BFF are rolling their eyes in disgust.  LOL.  I'll never be able to turn them. >_<

Things to come...

Ever since I made this top, it's been heavily worn.  I love it so much, I wore it twice in one week. Maybe I even wore it three times. Maybe. :)  I get numerous comments and emails about when or if I'm going to start selling this peplum design.  Perhaps in the near future, you'll be able to get your very own Elisharon-peplum.  I get lots of inquires about this over-sized clutch as well.  Maybe you'll be seeing that soon, too. (doesn't the inside pop of color make you giddy!?)

Izze

Lately, I've been obsessed with Izze drinks.  It's such a playful drink and is so refreshing.  Sure H20 is great and all, but a thirst-quenching Izze is also part of my beverage arsenal on a hot summer day.  My fave flavor would be Sparkling Clementine. Mmm!  Have you tried Izze?  What's your fave?

If you ask anyone that knows me personally, they'll tell you that I wear my heart on my sleeve.  So, when I was perusing through the aisles of Old Navy this weekend, I spotted this rad sweater.  Hello... so perfect for the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve, well, in this case, on her shirt? chest? sweater? LOL. A few weeks ago, my bestie, Wendy (not to be confused with my BFF) and I had a little girl's night out which included shopping! We visited a local fave, Mahina. Mahina is a great boutique which carries a lot of cute and affordable pieces.  Everything is pretty much under $50. While I normally like shopping by myself (or with the Pirate), shopping with a girlfriend is super fun, too.  We tried on a ton of things, but I just walked away with a couple of pieces.  One being this dress and other the ring.  I really love this dress.  It's ethnic print and boxy shift design is was first drew me to the dress, but I was sold when I discovered that it had hidden side pockets.  I love pockets in dresses.  Especially when they're not so noticeable at first.

Ikat

The last time I wore this dress, I had fiery red hair!  But that was nearly 7 years ago.  I really glad I hung on to it.  It's such a no fuss piece, but with the bold ikat print, it definitely packs a punch.  Styling it was a piece of cake... a pair of pewter heels, my DIY oversize clutch, a spiked encrusted cuff, and my trusty Rayban's and I was ready to go!  Hope you lovelies are having a great week!!!  See ya in a bit. :)

Leather scallops & polka dots

As promised, here's what I wore for my birthday dinner.  The Pirate took me to Salt.  OMG.  The food there is amazeballs.  My mouth is watering for more of their brown butter gnocchi.  I've had this skirt for a while now and I don't know why I don't use it more often.  It's so much fun.  I love the scalloped detail.  It sorta reminds me of a mermaid... a bad ass mermaid, since the skirt's leather.  Ha!  This polka dot blouse is one of my new faves.  It's has a pajama-y vibe which I totally dig.  Obviously the peter pan collar has me smitten.  Someone is desperately trying to hang out to their youth. LOL!  And since she was celebrating her birthday too (she turned TWO this year), Lita joined in on the birthday fun!

Blackout

Lately, I've been wanting to wear a lot more black pieces.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE color, but black is such an easy color (or lack thereof) to wear.  The key to wearing black is mixing different textures.  Megan from Alainn Bella sent over this dress.  I love the ease of the dress.  It can be dressed down or glammed up.  It's pretty enough to wear alone, but I wanted to pair it with my new-to-me leather vest that I picked up from Barrio Vintage, a super awesome vintage store located in Honolulu's china town.  And of course I had to wear my new Jeffrey Campbell shoes.  The Edea Spike is so HOT.  C'mon a wedge sneaker with spikes.  Amaze!!  The Pirate got these for me.  Seriously, the man knows the way to my heart!  Tee hee. :)

Leather peplum

Months ago when I spotted this H&M leather peplum top, I was instantly smitten.  Since we don't have H&M stores here in Hawaii, I knew what had to be done... I had to make one myself.  I put it off for months, but last night the sewing bug pinched me hard and after a few hours, my leather peplum top was born.  This version is faux leather, but I'm hoping to make one with real leather, too.  Did you guys see this embroidered faux leather number from Zara?  So amaze.  I hope you guys aren't getting too bored with my peplum fascination.  Haha.

I also picked up these flats from Nordstrom Rack.  I normally have to be in the mood to go through the racks and shelves at The Rack, but sometimes the rummaging pays off.  Scored these babies on super sale and also a few other goodies.  Do you guys like bargain hunting / shopping at places like Nordstrom Rack?  What's the best find you've ever walked away with?
