Ethnic

A few weeks ago, my bestie, Wendy (not to be confused with my BFF) and I had a little girl's night out which included shopping! We visited a local fave, Mahina. Mahina is a great boutique which carries a lot of cute and affordable pieces.  Everything is pretty much under $50. While I normally like shopping by myself (or with the Pirate), shopping with a girlfriend is super fun, too.  We tried on a ton of things, but I just walked away with a couple of pieces.  One being this dress and other the ring.  I really love this dress.  It's ethnic print and boxy shift design is was first drew me to the dress, but I was sold when I discovered that it had hidden side pockets.  I love pockets in dresses.  Especially when they're not so noticeable at first.

Hope you guys had a great weekend.  And if you haven't enter my Alainn Bella Giveaway, yet, you still have time.  So many pretty dresses to choose from.  Hurry up!  Enter HERE!

Orange Crush

I've had a crush on this skirt since I saw it on the runway, but the hefty price tag is what stands in the way of it living cosily in my closet.  Luckily, I've got mad sewing skillz and made one of my very own.  It still needs to be graded (it was one of my project for class), but I'll definitely show you guys soon.  I've never really been a fan of orange, but lately that's the color I've been drawn to.  I've also collected a bunch of maxi dresses over the past few weeks.  They're just so easy peasey to wear.  I been wearing this one non-stop.  I've paired it with heels, scarves, a white button up, lace, and a chunky necklace (and no, not all at the same time!), but I really love this dress with this whimsy giraffe belt that my BFF gifted me a few months back.  The zippered pocket on the belt also comes in handy.

What have you guys been crushing on this season?

True blue, baby I love you

The house smells delectable right now.  There's yellow cake baking in the oven.  I'm making a tres leches cake for tomorrow.  Have you ever had tres leches?  It's like a piece of heaven in every bite. Mmmm.

I got this top the other day at a local boutique, Mahina.  I'm still very much drawn to anything with stripes and the fun cutouts on the shoulders add to the quirkiness of this top.  The hemline is what hooked me though.  I love the tail. :)  If you're looking for a top like this (and you don't live here on the island), you can actually get the same top on Nasty Gal.  That's right, it's the exact same top.  I got mine for half the price that Nasty Gal is selling it for, but $38 is still a deal.  You can also find this bird print wrap dress that I wore in this post on Nasty Gal.  I got mine from Mahina.
