Friends. Are they really forever?

I feel the older I get, the tighter I want my circle of friends to become.  I don't intentionally let people slip out of my life, but some individuals just aren't worth it.  In the past I've allowed people to take advantage of me.  They've clouded my mind and discernment with lies disguised by false friendships.  I've always tried to give others the benefit of the doubt, second chances, sometimes even third, fourth, and fifth, but I've realized by doing so, no one learns.  I'm certainly not trying to say that I'm perfect, because trust me, I'm not.  But what I am is, real.  I know who I am.  I know my strengths and my flaws... and I embrace them both equally.  It's unfortunate, that these friendships have ended, but you push forward, and embrace the ones that have stood by your side.  The ones that were there for you through the best of times and were genuinely and undeniable rooting for your success, but were also there for you to help pick up the pieces during your failures.  Those are the people that matter.  Those are the ones that you keep and hold on tight to.  And those are the ones that I say a little thank you to, every single day. 

On a lighter note.. look at how tight these shorts are! Curses.  I've eaten a lot of these little puto's that my aunty brought over this weekend.  They are so light and deceivingly delicious.  If you don't know what puto is, google it now.  Sooo yummy!

I'm tired

I'm tired... tired of being tired all the time.  I need to get my ass to the gym.  Kate Moss has quoted, "Nothing tastes as good, as skinny feels."  I don't believe that entirely, because I don't desire to be stick thin, but I do believe I need to get my health back on track.  The gym is calling my name and I think it's finally time to answer.

I've been wanting to wear this dress (made by me!) out, but haven't really found the occasion to do so.  Maybe I'll just wear it to the market one day.  I loved how it came out and I want to share it with the world.

Loosey goosey

I just consumed way too much pickled mango.  It was mouthwateringly scrumptious, but now my stomach is in pain... totally worth it though.

I've been dying to watch Black Swan, but I'm a little chicken s!@# to go. lol.  The movie looks incredible and I love Natalie Portman, but I know I'll freak myself out.  Anyone watched it?  Should this scaredy cat go? 

As for the outfit today... Airy. Drapey. Comfy. Loosey. Goosey. AND A TOUCH OF SPARKLEY.

Knit, chiffon, and a unicorn horn

Dear Monday,  Thank you for being so kind to me today.  Your friend, Sharon.

Neglected, but not unloved

First snowfall

While driving to class today, I saw something atop Haleakala that I haven't seen for a while.  SNOW!  It was the first snow fall this winter (at least on Maui).  The visibility this morning was incredible.  The white powder was breathtaking.  I was so amazed, that I didn't get the chance to snap any photos.  I'm sure snow isn't as foreign to a lot of you, as it is to me.  Can you believe I've NEVER touched snow!?  Unless you count a snow cone (shave ice)!! heheh.  And I still didn't get to touch it today.  They closed the road going up to the summit.

So, I'm still getting used to wearing such a bold lip color.  It's slowly growing on me.  But I swear, I got a lot of "crazy" looks today... instead of eye contact, I got lip contact. lol. :)

A Lita story

Brown felt so Distressed, she asked for some GLita in her life... but Blk GLita was still a bit too dark for her... so enter Silvy!  And now, it's a party every night... but they're waiting for My Lita Pink Pony to come. If they behave, she just might show up one day.

Hello! Hug me. Thanks. ;)

There isn't a day that passes that I don't fall more deeply and madly in love with this guy.  He is my heart, my all, my soulmate.  If you love someone, remind them you do.  Sometimes, we get caught up in the daily grind and we forget to stop, breathe, take a look around, and think about the things that really matter.  And even the little things matter; like a hello, a hug, and a thank you.

So, honey, if you're reading this (and I know that you do daily!)...

Hello there.  I appreciate all that you do.  Your patience (with me) amazes me.  I love our little chicken kisses and even though I have to sometimes correct how you hug me, I don't mind, because it's our special hug.  So, thank you.  Thank you for all that you do and all that you are.  Oh and thank you in advance for letting me use these pictures that you didn't want me to post in the first place.  hee hee.

Beauty skincare products to love (Giveaway)

Hey my loves! I'm still here.  Still sick, but kickin'! 

I think I'm pretty blessed to have the skin I have.  Thank goodness for Asian skin huh!? :)  I used to mistreat my skin a lot by spending most of my teen years and early 20's frolicking under the Hawaiian sun! Sure, my sun-kissed skin was fabulous (and so was my bikini bod too! ha ha!), but I know I was doing much more damage to it.  So, I quit the sun and started taking really good care of my skin. 

My current skin regimen consist of products you can find at your local drugstore, but I love trying new beauty skin care products.  I especially love when I can purchase the skin care products online.   I first discovered Perricone MD about a year ago and have since wanted to try out their products.  I was super happy when they offered to send me any item for me to try.  I chose the Cold Plasma and just received it in the mail the other day.  I can't wait to try it.  I've read the reviews and for the most part people love it, with the exception of the "bad smell".  I actually don't mind the smell.  Can't wait to reverse the signs of "aging." :)

A quick note...

Sorry I've been m.i.a.  I've been battling a cold and dealing with a few personal issues.  I hope all is well with everyone and I'll be back shortly.  Just wanted to share a photo of the "wild & crazy" outfit I wore to my friend's son's birthday party.  At first, this was not a favored looked by the hubby, but as the day progressed, I think he slowly began to appreciate it. :)

A cake that goes pop

One of my best friend's son's 2nd birthday is coming up and I offered to make the desserts.  One of which will be lion and tiger cake pops!  I did a test run tonight (with items I already had on hand) and they came out pretty good.  To be honest, they took what seemed forever to make, but hopefully with a little more practice, I'll be able to pump these babies out.

Here I am... to save the day!

My hubby, the Pirate is pretty amazing... amazingly talented!  The other night he made two tops.  The tiger-ish print one is a simple blouse and the other one is something he calls the "Cape Top".  It's a sexy, curve hugging, off the shoulder top from the front, but the back has a quirky surprise; a "built-in" cape.  It's like I'm a sexy super-hero.  ha ha.  Super Sharon!! Here to save the day.  Okay, shoot me, I'm such a big dork.
