Cheers to 2011

Celebrating the last day of the year with my Pirate, Pooma, and pizza.  And just because we're at home doesn't mean we can't celebrate in style!  Happy NYE, loves.  Whatever you may be doing, have fun and be safe!  Cheers!!!  See ya in 2012. :)

Perfectly Pleated Plaid

I made this skirt a few weeks ago.  I love that it's plaid!  It was fun getting the plaid pattern to match.  Much easier than I though it would be.  I didn't intend for the skirt to be as full as it is, but I love the outcome.  It sort of makes me feel like a modern 50's housewife.  tee hee.

Well, the year is winding down.  2012 will be here before we know it.  What are your NYE plans?  And more importantly, what are you going to wear?!!!!

Very Merry

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  Mine was filled with family, friends, food and food coma's. :)  Did Santa bring you everything you asked for?

Gotta run, so I'll leave you with this look.  I saw this skirt all by it's lonesome self last week.  I thought it'd be happy to come live with me. :)

Shiny things

This dress has gotten a lot of wear this past month.  Three times to be exact (first time to my company holiday gala. In a dressier styling, of course)  Because of it's flashiness, one would save it for night time festivities, but I wanted to make it more "day-time appropriate".  Enter the camel sweater and leopard loafers. :)  I wore this combo on the last day of classes (and then again, this past week to a friend's holiday party).  What better way to end the semester than looking like a shiny disco ball!?  Perhaps this outfit may seem out of control, but I feel it's an unlikely pairing that works, at least in my book. :)

I picked a winner of the Shabby Apple Giveaway and the winner is, Amanda.  Congrats chica!  Thanks to everyone that entered and big thanks to Shabby Apple!

Favorite Winter Accessory

I apologize for being such a terrible blogger.  I'm officially on winter break and I'm hoping to blog a lot more for the next three weeks. :)

These photos were taken earlier in the month when the weather was cool enough to wear tights!  Crazy right, tights in Hawaii?  What can I say, we're wimps when the weather drops anywhere near 70 degrees.

Christy from Simply Audrey sent me over this adorable little number (Thanks Christy!).  It's the Birdie Shift Dress.  I love everything about the dress; quirky-printed-chiffon-bell-sleeved-goodness.  And because I didn't really pile on the accessories that day, I decided to pair my favorite winter accessory with the dress: A Red Starbucks Cup.  I seriously look forward to red cup season. I go on peppermint mocha binges!! This "accessory" costs only about $5 and you can also drink it.  What more could you ask for?  And it goes with EVERYTHING! ;) (plus my local Starbucks has got some cutie patooties working.  eye candy to start your morning, right. hahaha. i kid!) What's your favorite winter accessory?

I hope your week is off to a great start.  I'm excited for tomorrow night.  My friend's annual holiday party is gonna be off the hook!!  Cheers to a fab week.

Silver Anniversary!

Last night, the company I work for enjoyed our annual holiday gala and celebrated 25 years!  To say that it was an amazing evening would be an understatement.  The night was filled with fantastic decor, great music, delectable food, amazing raffle prizes, (cash, trips to Vegas, paddle board, Macbook pro, iPads, flat screen tv's to name a few) and music video starring our very own employees.  We even had our own verision of Jeopardy where three contestants challenged to win a grand prize of a new car or $10,000 cash.  Amazing, right?  The night ended with a surprise fireworks show.  I've been with the company for 11 years and I'm truly thankful and grateful to be part of an incredible company that truly values and takes care of their employees.  We truly are Ohana. :)  Happy Silver Anniversary OLL!

I didn't get to take any outfit photos last night (too busy have fun!), but I wore this little shiny number, sans the party queen sash (I actually made that sash for a friend).  I styled the dress with a studded belt, leather jacket, Spiked Lita's, and arm bling!

Wearing my heart on my sleeve shirt

While browsing through J.Crew.com the other day I feel in love with the Heart Me sweater.  Apparently, this sweater is "so popular" it's already sold out.  Luckily for me, the sweater reminded me that I actually had a top in my closet quite similar in style.  It came out to play today.  Isn't it great to be reminded of things that live in the depths of your closet?  Although, I am thinking of making a DIY version of the J.Crew "Heart Me" sweater.  I just need to find me an inexpensive lightweight tan sweater.

The week is half way done.  Seriously, this month is whizzing by and I still haven't done a single bit of Christmas shopping.  I need some motivation.  Perhaps, I'll be able to focus on gift shopping by next week's time.  I'll be on a little break.  Yay!  Happy Hump Day.

$40.86

Hello there.  I'm alive, just in case you were wondering. :) With work, side projects, and the school semester winding down, I've had a busy week.

The Pirate and I had a craving for bagels last night, so we headed to the market.  The market is the worse place to be when you're hungry.  I resisted buying everything in sight, but a few things (other than bagels) managed to jump into my basket.  I found a bag of cinnamon and white-choco drizzled kettle corn.  SO FREAKIN DELICIOUS.  I almost ate the whole bag last night.  Yikes!

Hope your week is off to a great start.  I'll try to blog more this week.  Crossing fingers and toes. :)

{sweater tunic: Free People | jacket: Calvin Klein | leggings: INC | flats: Payless | bag: Tahari}

This is how the Pirate "cooks".  He's a whiz at the toaster. ;) tee hee.  Toaster everything bagel, topped with whipped cream cheese, sprouts, Roma tomatoes, capers, and black pepper.

And this is what $40.86 will buy you at the market in Hawaii.  The price we pay to live in Paradise, huh?  A lot of tourist are shocked when they see that they have to pay $7 for a gallon of milk or $5 for a loaf of bread!
