Feeling "Official"

Today was my first day of draping.  It was really exciting to actually manipulate fabric on the dress form to create a garment versus flat pattern making.  The fabric comes to life in front of your eyes!  We started with draping a sloper.  I won't lie, it's not as easy as I thought it would be, but I'm sure this semester will be tons of fun.  Like I told everyone today... "Draping feels more 'design-y'". lol.

This look is actually from last week when the weather was a little cooler.  It wasn't "cool" enough to wear a fur (when is it really in Hawaii?!), but I was in the office the whole day and our office is FREEZING!

{sweater & skirt: F21 | vest & shoes: ON (buy) | watch: Michael Kors | sunnies: Rayban | ring: c/o V Nunes | necklace: B&W}

Love, S

Cute outfit! That necklace is a nice touch. :) We're having cooler weather on Oahu as well, and I am enjoying it. :D

I love hearing about your sewing adventures, Sharon. You're so talented and I'm so excited for you that you've taken this next big step in growing your skills!

I'm also surprised you wore that outfit in Hawaii hehe. I love it though, that fur vest is perfect and so is the boho-chic way you styled it in! But I would gladly switch places with you right now - I can't go outside without layering on 3 sweaters and a coat!

Hope you have a great weekend lovely!

I love draping. I took it last quarter and it really is much better than on the table patterning!

My gosh you're such a little sewer, I wish I could do the same! I tried a few years back, but I think my sewing skills are a little to, ehm, subpar for it to be shown on the blog, haha! :)

I don't know how you manage to wear all these layers in Hawaii, isn't it supposed to be H-O-T there? In Vancouver we're about to experience some snowfall, so if only I could wear as few layers as you! I can't wait to hear about more of your sewing adventures!

Have a lovely weekend xo :)
