Oldies, but goodies

This is a rarity on my blog.  Normally, I'm "showing off" my latest finds or newest purchase, but my outfit today was fashioned completely from pieces in my already-bursting-by-the-seams-so-why-do-I-keep-buying-stuff wardrobe.

Let me share a little story with you.  In high school, my BFF used to be a girl who never repeated an outfit in the same month.  To say I was envious of her wardrobe would be an understatement.  I, on the other hand, was that girl who would wear the same pair of shorts or jeans in the same week.  It didn't really bother me, because style comes from being able to reinvent yourself  and work with what you have, or in my case back then, what I didn't have.  Times sure have changed, because now I'm the girl who what seems like has an endless supply of clothing, shoes, and accessories at her disposal and my BFF has taken the more minimalist approach to her sartorial musings.  I've entertained the idea of really redefining my closet and editing the "unnecessary", but then I snap back into reality and realize that I love fashion and clothes (and yes I admit it, trends!) so much that I can't give up the "unnecessary".  Not just... yet.  It's definitely nice to remix old favorites. :)

What kind of closet do you have?  Overfloweth or minimalist?

{dress: c/o Alainn Bella | blazer: thrift | shoes: Jeffrey Campbell "Mariel"bag: via VJ-Style (buy)
sunnies: Rayban | necklace: J.Crew | watch: Michael Kors | bracelet: F21 | ring: craft fair}

Love, S

Love the mixing of oldie and goodie Sharon! The blazer looks just great with this dress, love it!

I really love trends but I really do try to be minimal from time to time. I swear new arrivals link on websites always get me though :/

Jackie

Definitely an overfloweth! I can't help myself. Minimalist is just not in me whatsoever! But I DO love this entire outfit on you! And surprise myself sometimes falling in love with something from my own closet after months or years of not wearing it. :)

I definitely love this look. The dress is so cute! Great remixing, hun. I'm somewhere in between when it comes to my wardrobe. I don't have a lot, but also don't have very minimal. I guess my wardrobe is pretty balanced. :)

My closet is definitely over flowing. I also want to purge it of all the unnecessary things... but I always come across the problem of "what if I need this..." or "if there's every a _____ party, I could wear it!" And I actually really dislike having a closet like that because it makes it so much more difficult to put together quality outfits in my opinion. Too many options make my mind go blank!

The blazer is fantastic - great find!

And my closet totally overfloweth too - but that's just normal, right? ;o)

Stunning as always. I think a lot of us have the problem of overflowing closets (honestly). It's impossible to not. I swear. I've gotten pretty good at keeping my closet at a reasonable size though. I think the trick is is to actually THROW things out (well I donate). People tend to just constantly add to their closets without considering how much they already have!

HI love! Great post! I have to say in the past year-ish I have slimmed down my closet to create a more curated wardrobe - almost as if I am styling a photo shoot. I thought it would kill me to let go of a lot of stuff but I am quite happy with the results! I feel more focus with my outfits.

And you should totally get a pair of sneakers! - don't be too jealous, mine aren't Marants... they are sold out everywhere!!
