Friendship bracelets

I've been under the weather the past couple days, hence the lack in posts.  I hate getting sick in the warmer months of the year, because I feel even more miserable.  I'm super hot and sweaty one minute and the next thing I know, I'm shivering under the covers.  Well, while cruising under the covers today, I decided to do a little diy-ing.  Ever since I saw one of my fav bloggers Jules from Sincerely, Jules post about these awesome friendship bracelets, I knew I had to make a few of my very own.  They're not as pretty as the ones Jules has, but I think they turned out pretty rad.  I remember back in the day, I made a ton of these.  I miss being a kid,  it was less complicated back then, wasn't it?

And I'm sorry for not posting this sooner, but the winner of the Fabric & Handle bag giveaway is, Jess.  Congrats girl!  Thanks to everyone who entered and big thanks to Fabric & Handle too!  Jess, I'll contact you in a bit... look for my email. :)  I have another giveaway coming up and it's pretty awesome if you ask me.. check back soon!

Love, S

I love these! My roommate recently got out a bunch of her embroidery thread (And boy was there a lot of it) to give herself a hair wrap like everyone used to get back in the day from vacation to Florida or whatever Island. I used some of it to just braid into a section of my hair. It brought back so many memories of when we would all just sit around making these bracelets for hours!!!

Awww I remember those! I had lots when I was a kid, too. Ah, yes, much simpler times.
I love it how friendship bracelets exist in so many parts of the world.

Congratz to the winner! Better luck next time for the rest of us

Man, I remember when I used to make these a long time ago. I used to wear like 5 or 6 at a time, and I made them with a special how-to-book that showed how to weave them all differently.

Ah, nostalgia.

OOh I used to make lots and lots of these in high school... I used to know different designs, too. Now, I don't know if I even have the patience to finish one. :( What a shame. Feel better!
