I Heart Lace ***Giveaway*** - CLOSED

Lace has got to be one of my favorite fabrics of all time.  It's such a feminine fabric, but you can pair it with a leather jacket or mini and instant edgy-ness.  Lace just screams romance and what girl doesn't want some romance!?

A few things from my closet...
{cami - Abercrombie & Fitch}

{bodysuit - American Apparel}

{shrug - White House/Black Market}

{3/4 sleeve bodysuit - F21}

And because I love lace so much I've decided to have a lovely giveaway for all my readers!  Thank you so much for reading my little blog.  I didn't imagine that so many of you from around the world would be interested in me!  Thanks for all your "sweet thoughts" and emails too!  I've connected with a lot of great people through this blog.

Eyes Wide Open

Last night I only slept for 3 hours. I could not sleep. I think lack of exercise (because I still can't put on sneaks) has contributed to lots of sleepless nights!! Agh. :( This funk needs to pass NOW!

{top - Old Navy, denim skirt - DIY, sandals - Old Navy, belt - random, lockets - F21 & Lucky Feather, bracelet - Thrift, ring - Tahiti Pearl Market}

This ring (Tahiti Pearl Market) brings back such great memories of our trip to Tahiti.  It was one of the the best weeks ever and the best tan I've ever had.. oh and topless sunbathing!!!  I got to pick out the pearls (from thousands!!) and setting and they created it right in front of me. Ahhh Tahiti... we'll be back one day.

Last night since slumberland was not on my side, I made some headbands for a couple of very special little girls. It's for LOVE day. I hope they love it.

Oh and over the weekend I recieved the necklace I won from Noomie Doodles Fashion. It's super cute. Can't wait to wear it. I heart her doodles.

I hope Mr. Sandman comes soon. I really need me some shut eye. Happy Hump Day everyone.

My Weekend

I had a great weekend.... but my hubby got sick :(.  Probably because of me.

Yesterday I woke up early... and by early I mean 7:30am. That's waaaaaay early for a weekend!!  It was our company's first Highway Clean-up for 2010.  We have two miles (that the company adopted years ago) designated for us to keep trash free. :)  I'm really glad I went.  This year I'd like to help out our little community more.  One "bad" thing that did happen was I got two cuts (they were teeny, but there was quite a lot of blood) on my left thigh!!!!!

Every highway clean-up the company comes up theme on what to wear (a few past clean-up attire; rasta wear, wacky hats, tacky tourist).  We had to wear GREEN this time around.... so I found this old tee from Abercrombie + Fitch and also fashioned me a green fishy headband with a googly eye :).
Saturday night (before the hubby got worse), we went to buy some craft supplies... and enjoyed some dinner together. I also picked up two really pretty dress and skirt patterns from Wally World. They're Cynthia Rowley. I can't wait to sew something up!! Speaking of sewing, Project Runway made it's debut this past week! OMG, so excited it's back in NYC. That's where that show belongs... will be posting about PR soon!
And... today was Lauren's (one of my best-est-est-est friend) baby shower. It was hosted by her family at Tiffany's restaurant. (Tiffany's has such great food!! today we had; kimchee fried rice, shrimp tempura, tofu tempura, spicy pork lettuce wraps, crispy noodles, sizzling steak bites, mochiko chicken, and seafood pancake).  Since Eli wasn't feeling well, he stayed home to rest and I brought him home his favorite, yummy Honey Walnut Shrimp, to cheer him up. :)

It was such a great little get together. Lauren was brought to (happy) tears :) .... I know that she will be such an amazing mother. I can't wait to be an "aunty" again!

The Manuels. :) {cake + cuppies, made by yours truly. I made little fishey flags, but forgot them}
Shanna, Leah, Me, Lauren a.k.a. "Baldy", and Tara
Baby shower tradition... after the gifts are open the daddy get's dressed up like a baby! Leabert was such a good sport for letting me dress him up... and of course I couldn't forget his "bottle".
and... these are the little centerpieces I made for the shower. The theme was "Fish and Poi...".  So I took empty Hanalei poi (oh yummy) plastic containers, lined them with blue tissue paper (to mimic the ocean), filled them with yummy Hawaii snacks (some ocean-ey), and created a little Koi Nobori (Lauren embraces her Japanese culture).

Snacks included, mini nori arare, red iso peanuts, heart shaped arare, honey balls, li hing mui candy, ocean-y animal crackers, and mac nut kisses
Hope everyone else had a great weekend!!!!

p.s. I almost forgot to mention that I won another "Itty Bitty Giveaway", from Jessica at Style Obsession. Thanks Jessica, can't wait to wear my ring!!! weeeee. :)

Day Dreaming Wonderland...

I've been thinking.. I need to start an empire with my talent! :) Just one idea and it could explode into a multi-million dollar phenom! who knows.. it could happen to me. Wishful thinking.

I made another money box (normally a tradition in Hawaii, these boxes are used or displayed at parties; normally located at the "sign in" / gift table... guests place their cards in these boxes) for my friends daughter's first birthday party this weekend.  It came out pretty great, that I wanted to keep it for myself. But it would just take up way too much space in our little home.

On my lunch break at work.... :) I really love the color of this dress against my skin... why don't I have more of this in my wardrobe!?!
Wearing: dress - Vertigo, sandals - Style & Co.,  locket - Lucky Feather, ring - F21, bangle - Thrifted
I also made a diaper cake for my cousin's baby shower. Yay another girl in the family! :) It was a Hello Kitty diaper cake and I'm sad that I don't have any "blog worthy" pictures to share.

This is what I wore to the shower....
Wearing: navy dress (from last year) - F21, boots - Carrini, sheer tights - George, bracelets - F21, BIG bow headband - Ross
I'm really excited for Alice in Wonderland this coming March. The beautiful Johnny Depp. *sigh*. I have an outfit in the works... eeek!! and this BIG bow headband will go great with it! Can't wait to share.

p.s. This is a bit embrassing, but I hate to admit that I'm really into the song Tik Tok by Ke$ha. Gawd! LOL. and my hubby got me "hooked" on Jersey Shore. *fist pump* double oh my gosh!!

Playing dress up

My mom said that when I was a little girl I would change my outfit at least 4 times a day.  I was definitely a girlie girl.  We would go to the mall every weekend and I would always come home with something new.  Whenever I got a new pair of shoes, I would slip them on as soon as I got into the car and wear them on the ride home.  I think all little girls love playing dress up and because I loved playing dress up so much when I was a little girl, I thought it would be such a fabulous idea to give that as a gift to my friend Wendy's daughter, Kamoana.  She recently turned 4 and what better way to celebrate with fun outfits to play dress up with!!

So, about a week ago I began sewing.  I made quite a few outfits -- party dresses, skirts, a divalicious dress, princess gown, tutu, nurse outfit, and even a wedding dress.  My hubby's contribution to her gift was getting a couple pair of dress up heels and he made her a wardrobe trunk.  It was quite sweet.  Today was her birthday party and when she opened up her trunk, her eyes lit up. She was so excited!!  The excitment was heightened when she saw the heels!!! She immediately put them on and that image of her doing so brought back such fun memories.  I will be posting pictures of the outfits soon. :)

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.
