Always Beside You

Never above you, never below you, always beside you.  That's where I'll always be.  I heart you, Pirate.

Last night the Pirate took me out to chef Mark Ellman's new restaurant, Honu Seafood & Pizza.  The restaurant sits right on the ocean, in Lahaina Town.  I was really excited to try this place, especially because chef Ellman's other restaurant (which is right next door to Honu), Mala is also a fave of mine.  And it offered a menu that would satisfy both the Pirate and I.  He's a pizza lover and I love me my seafood!

A friend of mine told me to hold off and wait a week or two before dining at Honu, but only because they just opened a few days ago.  I couldn't wait!  Perhaps, I should have.  While the ambiance is fabulous, the service was quite slow.  I had high expectations with the food as well; I got the clam roll.  The clams were not very seasoned and a little too oily for my taste.  The french fries (a mix of regular and sweet potatoes) were delicious!  I've never met a fry I didn't like. :)  The Pirate ordered the Mushroom pizza;   roasted Alii Mushrooms, Truffle cheese, garlic, lavender, and white truffle oil.  That was scrumptious!  And for dessert we had Affogato; vanilla ice cream with espresso.

First impressions mean a lot, and although I wasn't too impressed, I'm certain I'll be back to give Honu another try.  I'm dying to try their Live Clam Chowder and the Crab Mac & Cheese!! mmmm so rich, but I'm sure very delectable.

Can you believe I've had this dress for over two years and this is the first time it's come out to play!?  I don't know why I've waited so long to wear it.  I love the brocade pattern, the easy silhouette, and the hidden side pockets! I'll certainly make sure to get more use out of this little number. :)

Oh I love the elegant brocade dress! You look lovely :)

Yeah, I was a bit iffy when it came down to ordering the tote, but considering that another blogger ordered one I figured that there was no harm (except for the custom and shipping charges that took me by surprise ...). Luckily, you're over in the states so I'm assuming that the cost is less!

SHARON!!!

Sometimes I do that with my clothes too - wait forever to wear 'em - but it's almost as if I'm waiting for the 'perfect' occassion and when it arrives, you just know ;)

Looks like you guys had a great evening (minus the so-so food and slow service :S)

Yum that food looks sooo good! Adorable dress. It's funny how you buy things and they sit in your closet only for you to discover later how much you love them!

My coder is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP.

I have always disliked the idea because of the costs.
But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using Movable-type on a variety of websites for about a year and am anxious
about switching to another platform. I have heard good things
about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
