If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this current trend walking around your city or town.  Here on Maui though, definitely not.  I'm thinking if I should be the first one on the rock to rock the "flatform" trend?  I'm on the fence.  My feet are large, okay, not large, but they are wide.  And my toes are stubby too.  Let's not forget that I'm only 5'4".  Do I really want to look like a duck walking around town?

Derek Lam's Stacked Wedge Platform would be the ideal flatform I'd want to try, but I don't want to pay a pretty penny for something this trendy.  Lo and behold (no surprise here), Jeffrey Campbell to the rescue.  The Suebee is a dead ringer, right?  I'm so tempted!

Love, S

I'm on the fence on this trend - I figure if you're going to rock a high wedge or heel, might as well do it in a style that will make your legs look long and lean. Now if JC made that look in a reg platform wedge though, I'd be drooooooling ...

Oh! I've seen these around Sharon! And I fear I had something similar in H.S. and remember having issues and tripping all the time. So for this clumsy [a'la Ally McBeal] girl, I'll resist. I'm sure you could rock them the best in all of HI!

Duck feet are not flattering on any girl of any height. It doesn't look good on a lot of other girls, and it definitely would work on petite girls like us. I'm 5'2". Why would we want something that not only cuts off our line, it stunts it at a weird angle? The result is something stubby and slightly waddly.

I don't get flatforms.

I still think this is one big cosmic fashion joke and we're not in on it.

Sharon Lei!
Did you get my email? I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
These shoes are cute. I wonder what they look like on and if they're comfy since they look so flat-footed.
Hope all is well!

It's kind of cute, but I still think a wedge would just be more flattering.
