Satisfied for now

I've been searching for a perfect summer hat for a while now, but haven't had any luck.  Anytime I come across something I like, it doesn't fit.  So when I found out the company I work for was offering a hat and bowl weaving class, I didn't hesistate to sign up.  I made a boater-esque hat out of coconut leaves!  This hat will do for now.  I can't wait until it dries and becomes a nice tan color.  I'll still be on the search for the perfect summer hat, but I'm satisfied with this one for now, especially because I made it with my own two hands and it actually fits my head!

I decided to keep the top of the hat completely open, so that I have the option of wearing further down or just at the crown.

Now I must go hone my domesticated goddess skills and tidy up and finish the laundry!  If someone ever comes across a machine that folds clothes, please let me know.

Love, S

hehe I love that you know how to make that! I got one while I was in Maui several years back and I was so sad when it broke because it dried out to much!

Anyways - just stopping by to say thanks for showing love to my DIY Miu Miu tights on Diamonds & Tulle's post featuring Vanessa from The Haute Pursuit. You can check out how to do it at Fvncy.com ;)

awesome coconut leaf hat! i love it. pls take pictures to show how the colour changes as it dries. i love that. great outfit as well, simple yet polished. navy looks good on you!

i think we need a machine that does it all. cleans, dry cleans, irons, folds, heck, if it could be a tailor/seamstress too, now that, would be perfect lol

i can't believe hawaii doesn't have a zara! although, if it did, girl, you would be so broke ass like me haha, i'm serious! that store is such a hazard to my bank account. but i love it hahaha

oh my, your BFF was so nice to try and find it for you, but that sales associate.. not so bright. damn, i've been looking for that miu miu printed dress too but i think it's sold out everywhere.

sharon you are too kind with all the sweet things you say! stop it hahaha you make me blush every time!
