Happy 137th Birthday!

Don't rompers make you feel like a kid again!?  I love them.

{romper - F21, sandals - Old Navy, sunnies - "Raybon", ha ha drugstore}

Pooma got a haircut last week.  Her purple color is almost gone.  Not sure if I want to color them again.  Picked up some of that Apple Bitter Spray... it's sort of working.  She runs when she sees us coming with the bottle.  Hee hee.

Yesterday we went to Local Boy's West and enjoyed some ono (yummy) shave ice!! (yes, locals in Hawaii call it "shave ice" as opposed to shaved ice, well most of us do).  There's quite a few shave ice places on the island, but today was the first day we both tried Local Boy's.  They give you a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream on the bottom and you can even add other things like, mochi balls and azuki beans.  I added the mochi balls.  I got to choose three flavors... guava, mango, and dreamsicle... and to add to the sugar rush they top it off with a drizzle of Kauai Cream! Oh la la.  Oh man, that shave ice was pretty awesome! Um, and yes it was shared.  :)

We played tourist and visited Lahaina Town's famous landmark, the Banyan Tree!

Yesterday it celebrated it's 137th Birthday (planted back in 1873).  There was birthday cake, games, artists, crafters, and activities for the keiki.  There were even clowns!  I got a quick picture with them before they got to the festivities.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Love, S

sharon! i LOVE that romper and i totally did not see that one at my forever 21, b/c if i did, i would have bought it too, hehe! i did buy a black one from tjmaxx the other day though but it hasn't been warm enough for me to wear it yet, the warm weather needs to come faster here in kansas city!! =)

and omg, i think i must have drooled all over my keyboard while i was reading the description of your shaved ice... mochi balls are the best and those flavors you got all sound sooo good! and i don't know what kauai cream is... but i loved kauai and i LOVE cream so i bet it is amazing hehe!!

Alely said...

and OMG...shaved ice...oh how i miss u so. vanilla ice cream with azuki beans rock! i haven't had one since we last visited the islands. funny thing is, we actually had a family from hawaii who had a shaved ice store here in our town but he only served it hoale style. no ice cream, no beans, no mochi balls. unfortunantly, i passed by a few days ago and they were closed.
