Sew me some Sunshine

I bought a cool Riccar Sewing machine for my hubby.  I found it on Craigslist.  The sewing table part of the machine is missing, but at $20, it's still a great deal.  It's vintage, black, and made of metal.  It's a "boy" sewing machine.  Ha ha.  I'm going to teach him the tricks I know and hopefully this fall, we'll take some sewing courses at the local community college together.  It'll be so much fun!

I also scored this yellow coat.  No, not from Craigslist. :)  You're probably thinking, "Who needs a coat in Hawaii!", and the answer is ME!  Hey, I go on vacations too... and if I ever decide to go somewhere where a coat is fitting, then I'll have one on hand.  Plus, I love the color!  It's like sunshine exploded all over me.  My hubby is at work today, so the windowsill helped me snap these pics.  They're blurry... but somes blurrrr is goooood.

I did something fun to my hair today.  Something I hardly ever do.  I put it up... but in fun milkmaid braids.  Thanks Vanessa from The Haute Pursuit for this tutorial.  Check it out here.  Super easy and super fun.

Love, S

SO cute! And I am still constantly reminded that I was the only person at our wedding who needed a cardigan [at the luau]/ I still say it gets breezy and a lightweight jacket or cardi is essential!

You look sooooo adorable in that yellow coat and I wish my hair was long enough for milkmaid braids. I think that's why I'm growing my hair out.

I do love Front Street. As touristy as it is, there are so many fun shops (plus, Lapperts Ice Cream, which is an all time favorite). You should go to the beach to take pictures! The beach is always so beautiful!
