I ♥ you EGG-actly the way you are

I love LUXIRARE's blog for three reasons; her "mad scientist" blog aesthetic, her brilliant ability to create gorgeous leather goods, and the abundance of beautifully crafted food porn!  She is genius, I tell ya!  I was so impressed with her version of Egg-In-A-Hole that I too, had to try to reinvent the old breakfast classic.  While mine isn't as refined as hers, I was very delighted with my medley of food.  I shared my creation on her FB page and was touched to see that she shared my version on her live blog.  Thanks Miss Luxirare. ;)

I actually made these egg-themed cutting board meals for me and the Pirate's LoveDay dinner.  He isn't a fan of runny eggs, so I made him a fried egg sammie with pepper jack.  And a meal isn't complete without dessert.  We devoured a mini banana cream pie and triple berry pie from Leoda's.

I Heart ban.do

Aren't these just so lovely?  I'm a smitten kitten.

Anyone have any Valentine's Day plans?  I'm normally a sucker for the lovey-dovey, gag me with a spoon festivities that surround Valentine's Day, but really, every day is V-Day with the hubby.  See, I told you I'm a sucker. :)

Cheesey Love

The Hubbs and I had a great Valentines Day, even though he had to work for most of the day.  When he came home I surprised him with a yummy homemade dinner at Cafe Clemons (our home).

I made a makeshift cafe sign (scrap cardboard, paint, and some ribbon).. Our place is super teeny, but here's the table set up.  I also strung some twinkle lights... and John Legend played in the background.

I actually tweaked the menu a lot.  Originally I was going to make Truffle Mac & Cheese, but I didn't realize truffle oil was quite pricy, almost $30!! So I passed on that, maybe next time.  I also was going to prepare spinach and strawberry salad, but a small pack of berries were $9.. and they looked over-ripened.  It's crazy how much we pay for groceries in paradise.  Regardless we had a great dinner!

I made a light Nutella Butter Cream frosting for my sinfully chocolatey fudge choco chip cuppies.. Oh la la.  The card the Hubbs got me was super sweet too.. and got me all choked up, which got him all choked up.. tear. :)

Pooma was trying to eat some of the Mac & Cheese, don't worry she didn't have any... but this pic was super cute 'cause it looks like she's gonna take a big bite!!!.. and the Hubbs after a few glasses of wine... so silly!!

And even though we were just dining in our home, I still wanted to dress up a bit (minus the makeup).  Doesn't this dress have a striking resemblence to the Nanette Lepore dress seen here on Miley Cyrus back in 2009?  Well, I got this dress last September at Walmart.  Yes, you read right, Walmart. Crazy huh!?!  We went there to get a few things for the house and this dress caught my eye.  It was the only one left and my size, and the best part was that it was only $11!  I'm sure the real deal feels much more fabulous than my version, but it's still super comfy and very easy to wear.  I love wrap dresses and hope to own one by Miss Von Furstenberg one day.  Also, this is the first time in over 3 weeks that I put on heels. It was a weird feeling, but pretty awesome too.

{dress - Walmart, sandals - Enzo Angiolini, fresh water pearl necklace - from my Aunt on my wedding day, purse - La Ragale Satin Minaudiere Heart from hubby}

Hope everyone had a great Love Day... :) and Happy Chinese New Years too! Ooooh can't wait, they always have yummy food at work for Chinese New Years and it's for a whole week too!

Love, S
