WOOD YOU BE MINE?

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you not only celebrate your loved ones today, but everyday! :)

A great timepiece is something every great wardrobe could benefit from.  I've been meaning to get a new watch so I was thrilled when Jord reached out to me and ask if I wanted to review one of their watches.  Jord prides themselves in creating timepieces that appeal to a modern lifestyle.  They value sustainability, efficiency, and experimental living.  I love that!  I also adore that they make watches for "people who don't just have somewhere to be, they have somewhere to go."

The watch I chose is from their Fieldcrest Series.  The Dark Sandalwood compliments the beautiful dark faceplate.  I love that this darker color goes perfectly with my tanned skin.  The watch definitely makes a bold statement without looking gaudy, and I love how light weight it is.  Overall it's a beautiful watch and if I had one note, it would be that it's not water resistant/proof.  Other than that, I adore it.  It also comes in Green Sandalwood, Zebrawood & Maple, and Maple.  Check out Jord's other styles, here.  Happy Shopping!

GREY RIBBED KNIT

I wanted a grey ribbed knit dress.  So I made one.  Did I mention it has pockets?

THE CLOSET EDIT

The idea of having a Capsule Wardrobe terrifies me.  I am the girl who falls hard for anything that is trending or trendy.  It's something I openly admit, but slightly ashamed of. >_<   This year, I've decided that I would like to refine my wardrobe.  While I may never have a true capsule wardrobe, I'd like to come close.  I want to own pieces that I love and that fit well, but also still have a few items that are fun and unique.  What pieces in your wardrobe are your must-haves?

DOUBLE DENIM

A great pair of ripped jeans is a definite closet staple for me. The hunt for the perfect pair can be tiresome, especially for my body type (small waist, wide hips, plump derriere, and shapely thighs), so when I came across this pair I was thrilled that it fit like a glove.  It's a mid-rise jean that's easy through the hip and thigh, but slim around the calves and ankle.  With the right amount of distressing, it's still "safe" enough that I can wear it to the office.  Since, I purchased this pair last season, it's no longer available, but check out these current styles.

What's your favorite closet staple?

Little Red Dress

This semester marks my last as a fashion student and I'm so excited.  It's been a long time coming and I'm thrilled to see where my fashion journey will take me.  Eli and I have a few things up our sleeves, so keep an eye out.  I can't wait to share.

A little red dress was something that was missing from my wardrobe.  To fill the void, I created my own.  And because red really isn't "my color," I choose this beautiful red and white silk textile.  Baby steps.  The best part of this dress; pockets.  Everything is better with pockets.

Monstera

Hi guys!  To say it's been a while would be an understatement.  Hopefully some of you are still out there following along.  :)

I've been sewing a lot lately and here's a little number I whipped up.  It's so perfect for summer and it will surely be in high rotation.  I've been obsessed with gladiator sandals lately and was happy to find these affordable ones from Zara.  Crossing my fingers and toes they'll stock them in black.

What current trends are on your "must-have" list? I'd love to know.

New Hair

It's been over 6 months since my last hair cut, and nearly 8 years since I've colored my hair, so yesterday, I decided it was time for a change.  7 inches shorter, a ton of bleach, and three hours later, I was a new me.  Bangs in tack, of course.  My full fringe is my signature.  I don't think I'll be parting with it anytime soon.  It's very likely that when I'm 60, I'll still be rockin' it.

You're probably wondering why I'm wearing black lipstick?  After seeing it on my lovely friend, Lily,  I wanted to give it a go.  While, I don't think this suits me personally (Lily, you wear it so well), it was a nice complement to my black and white ensemble.  I love trying new things, even if it's little things, like a new lip color.  What new things have you discovered lately?

The Fifth

Lately, I've been obsessing over the Australian brands; Cameo, Finders Keepers, The Fifth, and Keepsake. A few weeks ago, I did some damage and ordered a few Cameo and Finders Keepers pieces.  I am in love.  I cannot wait to add more to my wardrobe.  I got this The Fifth tee from my good friends over at Homecoming.  It is one of the comfiest and softest tees I own.  Trust me, you're gonna want one of these.  Call them up, they do phone orders, too.

Weekend Wear

Over the past year or so, I've incorporated a lot of black (and whites, creams, greys) into my wardrobe, but I still love wearing colorful pieces once in a while. My style is constantly changing and ultimately it's the mood I'm feeling in the morning that dictates what I want to wear that day.  On the weekends, I always reach for something that's no fuss.  As I mentioned in my last post, I'm obsessed with WonderlandHonolulu and their trapeze mini's.  Enter the Cleo mini.  Yes, I added yet another one of these dresses to my weekend-wear arsenal.  What can I say, I'm a creature of habit.  What are your favorite things to wear on the weekend?  Besides your jammies, of course. :)

Dreamland

One of my favorite brands to wear is Wonderland Honolulu.  They are consistent which finding and creating amazing prints in easy to wear silhouettes.  Their mini trapeze dress is the perfect staple for Hawaii's year round warm weather.  I am beyond obsessed with their new boho prints.

While I'm yearning for cooler weather, this weekend proved that the heat is here to stay for a little while longer.  Dreamland mini to the rescue!  I decided to venture away from the west side of the island and explore one of my favorite spots; the Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm.  I love how the beautiful lavender fields perfectly complemented my outfit.  Thankfully, the weather in the upcountry area of Maui provides a little relief from the heat, so I took the opportunity to bring out my favorite booties from last fall.  I've worn them to death and I think it's time for a new pair.  Any suggestions are welcomed. :)

Palm Print

Hey guys! Happy Aloha Friday!  I'm ready to enjoy my weekend, so I'm keeping it short and sweet today.  I just wanted to share with you this little palm print skirt I made the other month.  Super fun, right?  I hope you have a great weekend, exploring, learning, and discovering something or someplace new!  See ya guys later!

The Pineapple Isle

Hi again!  This is my attempt to revive my little ol' blog.  I've missed blogging and I've missed visiting all my favorite blogs and getting inspiration, but I feel this hiatus was a much needed one.  I'm back and I'll try my best to stay on top of things and share with you tidbits of my sartorial adventures here in Hawaii.

Speaking of adventures, I went on a little trip to Lana'i this past weekend.  It's been years since I've visited "The Pineapple Isle" and I was excited to go back and enjoy the beautiful beach and soak up the warm sun.  If you are ever on Lana'i, I suggest staying at the Four Seasons at Manele Bay.  It was love at first site.  The resort is gorgeous and the staff are so welcoming and attentive.

I've always had challenges finding hats that can fit my huge head, so I was thrilled when I found a hat that fit.  It was a bonus that I actually liked how it looked on. Ha!  As for this kimono, isn't it so on point?  Seriously AMAZING!  Wonderland Honolulu does it again.  I believe there is still some in stock at Homecoming, so check it out and sang one before they're all gone.  Finally, let's talk about this swimsuit.  I instantly fell in love with the draped front and the macrame details (see here).  I haven't worn a two piece in years, so when I come across a unique once piece, I'll get it even if the price tag is a little more than I'm willing to spend. :)

Well lovelies, I gotta jet.  Hope you're all having a great week so far.  See ya again, soon!

Skull Love

I love a fun graphic print tee, or in this case, this dope skull bone racer back tank from Alainn Bella .  It's such an easy piece to throw on and go.  I decided to add this sheer button down to add some layers, since we're still experiencing some "chilly" weather.  Alainn Bella just stocked some really cute pieces for spring and summer!  I'm really lovin' the Shark Mouth tank, Maggie Aztec dress, and the Neon plaid skirt.  Hop on over to their site to check out all the fun new arrivals!  Get shopping! Enter promo code "ELISHARON" at check to save 15% off your entire purchase.  Again, you can thank me later... preferably with macarons! ;)

Rose Garden

Springtime is just around the corner and what better way to greet her than with this beautiful WonderlandHonolulu rose garden kimono.  Isn't it so beautiful?  Not only is the print so freaking fantastic, but this kimono is super versatile.  You can throw it over anything and it makes your outfit a million times better.  I can't wait to wear the heck out of this!  If you're on Oahu check out Homecoming to stock up on some WonderlandHonolulu steeze.  Or if you're far far away and have no access to the baddest shop in China town, following Homecoming on Instagram and they're gladly help you with a phone order. You can thank me later. :)
