A very Chanel Christmas

We finally got some "wintery" weather here in Lahaina... well, as wintery as the islands can get. :) It was windy, rainy, and cold -- yes cold! I love the cold...

I had a very very very lazy Sunday morning. I got up a little past 10am. Eli asked if I wanted to go with him to the gym, but I don't do the gym on Sundays. :) I stayed in my pj's, popped on the couch, ready to devour a big slice of pumpkin roll for breakfast (mmm... I'm thankful for leftovers), and turned on the tube. I watched an all day marathon of Monk.  I'm so sad that that show is coming to an end, but I'm happy to know that Mr. Monk will finally know what happened to Trudy.  After a few episodes of Monk, I decided that we needed to trim our tree today. We bought a teeny one this year, about 3ft tall and the funny thing is... I bought the wrong color!! It's black. At first I wasn't excited about a black tree, but Eli suggested we have a Chanel Christmas tree this year and that a black tree would be perfect. So after several hours of crafting, I ended up with about 20 unique Chanel ornaments.  We just got done decorating the tree (it's 2am here in Hawaii) and Eli was right, the tree came out PERFECT! It's lovely and special.

Has anyone decorated their tree yet? Any great/fun/unique themes?? I'd love to see all the creative ideas everyone came up with. :)  Time to get me some shut eye. Good night.. and Good Morning.

Love, S

We put on tree on our kitchen table -- that we never eat at.. (I normally craft/sew on this table)
Pooma helped us out too. :) (I know, OMG, doggie on the Kitchen table!!)... she got her hair cut yesterday and is sporting her winter turtle.. you can't really tell, but it's green with pink argyle.
My lovely hubby... goofing around... Me holding my favorite ornament.
All done! the lights ar red. :)
I had so much fun making all these ornaments and it didn't cost me a thing. I had everything on hand.  I even used leftover lace from my wedding dress. :)

Black (white & gray) Friday

I don't think I've ever had the pleasure (or pain) to experience Black Friday. I've always had to work, but that could possibly be a blessing in disguise. ^_^  Living on island has it's advantages on this day.  I'm sure the craziness that happens in the stores here doesn't compare to what goes on for you mainland dwellers. I'm sure the deals are amazing, but I'm glad I've stayed away all these years.  Don't get me wrong I love shopping and who doesn't love bargains galore, but the thought of possibly getting trampled on doesn't excite me at all.  Maybe my view on this day will change once the hubbs and I have children (great deals on toys), but until then I'll stay away. :)

*These tattoo socks from etsy sellers Gabby and Tal are awesome! I want a pair or two!
*Creator of dekkori, Stephanie Kim is an absolute genius! I can't wait to get me a pair or two! ha ha. They are a bit pricy, has anyone seen anything similar??
Wearing: peace top - Maui Thing (support your local businesses), gray sweater vest, liquid leggings - Wetseal, gray / clear bowtie heels - Unlisted

I got these heels (on clearance $4.99) a couple years back from Ross Dress4Less. Oh and please pardon the icky tattoo's on my hand! Ick!! What a terrible idea.
Our Maltipoo was a bit shy taking pics today. Maybe it's because she needs a haircut. She's going to the Pet Salon tomorrow! yay.

Let's give Thanks

Happy Hammy Day everyone!! I am not a big fan of turkey (hence the Hammy day reference), but I sure do love all the fixings -- stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, baked beans, cranberries, and my mother in law's famous pumpkin roll!! That dish alone makes me wish it were Thanksgiving all year long. Yum.

I had to work today, but I am thankful for that because that means I have a job. :)  I am thankful for many things... {and this is in no particular order}

*my husband, Elisha.  He is the most understanding and PATIENT man I know. He's my soul mate.
*my parents, they embody a "perfect" marriage.
*my grandma Ovie, she is the strongest woman I know... physically, mentally, spiritually. She's 85.
*my sister, she's the best big sister ever. She gives great advice and puts things into perspective.
*friends, they are all lovely and I'm lucky to have them.
*Pooma, she is the best doggie ever! even if she pees when she gets too excited. ^_^
*mascara, my lashes would be lonely without it.
*coffee. my morning pick me up.
*cookies. all kines!
*nail polish.
*floss.
*my cell phone.

*the trash man.
*eggs!
*God. He is number one.
*lazy sundays -- sleeping in.
*cat naps.
*whipped cream.
*Hello Kitty.

*Creativity!!
*being a woman.
*my ipod. I wouldn't work out if Ididn't have it. Terrible, I know.
*Twilight series... for obvious reasons {the lovely, Edward}
*paychecks.
*waking up every morning to an amazing man.
*my health.
*Lahaina, it's a great little town to live in.
*my closet -- even though it's not a BIG as I'd like it to be, maybe that's a good thing.

I have lots more to be thankful for.. but really, I'm thankful for my life! I wouldn't change anything past or present about it. It's molded me into the woman that I am. Can't wait to see what the future holds.  Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day and night.  Hug someone today. Tell someone you love them. Take care. God Bless.

Playing dress up

My mom said that when I was a little girl I would change my outfit at least 4 times a day.  I was definitely a girlie girl.  We would go to the mall every weekend and I would always come home with something new.  Whenever I got a new pair of shoes, I would slip them on as soon as I got into the car and wear them on the ride home.  I think all little girls love playing dress up and because I loved playing dress up so much when I was a little girl, I thought it would be such a fabulous idea to give that as a gift to my friend Wendy's daughter, Kamoana.  She recently turned 4 and what better way to celebrate with fun outfits to play dress up with!!

So, about a week ago I began sewing.  I made quite a few outfits -- party dresses, skirts, a divalicious dress, princess gown, tutu, nurse outfit, and even a wedding dress.  My hubby's contribution to her gift was getting a couple pair of dress up heels and he made her a wardrobe trunk.  It was quite sweet.  Today was her birthday party and when she opened up her trunk, her eyes lit up. She was so excited!!  The excitment was heightened when she saw the heels!!! She immediately put them on and that image of her doing so brought back such fun memories.  I will be posting pictures of the outfits soon. :)

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

New Moon steals my heart!

I  had a date this afternoon -- with my lovely sister-in-law, Leah.  We went to see our boyfriend, Edward Cullen. He is so dreamy, more beautiful than ever.  I love the Twilight Saga. Who thought falling in love with a vampire could be so sexy!! :)... If you haven't watched New Moon yet, I highly recommend watching it.  Oh, and I can't wait until this summer, Eclipse is going to be amazing! It's supposed to be coming out June 30, 2010! What a treat, just in time for my birthday! Eek!! :)

Love, S

**I am Team Edward for life**

p.s. I'm such a big dork, I can't help that I love vampires :). I wasn't able to go in my "vampiresque" attire, because I went straight from work. Tomorrow's another day, maybe my hubby will take me to watch it again! Ha ha.

Christian Siriano for Payless

I have such a great BFF. She got me some fabulous shoes! They're Christian Siriano for Payless... considering the price, they're quite great.  I love the front zipper detail on the boot and also the turquoise sole.  They heels are quite lovely as well. I love the gold and black patent combo.  I wore them tonight while watching Gossip Girl.  I love "dressing up" (most of the time I put on a headband and a pair of heels) to watch that show. Gosh, I'm such a dork sometimes. :)

An UGGly weekend

I had a great weekend and I'm glad that I have a extra day to relax. I took a vacation day tomorrow. :) Sweet. The weather in Maui is getting a bit cooler (well, "cool" for maui).  Cool enough to wear me some UGGS.  They're so comfy and you can wear them with anything.

I did a bit of crafting, sewing, and baking this weekend. My sister-in-law's 24th birthday was last night and I made her sweet tokidoki Pegasus cake -chocolate cake + cream cheese frosting - yum!! We also went to our godson, Delton's last soccer game. His whole team was presented with little trophies. It was so cute. Tonight we went to our other godson, Shai boi's bday bbq. I love bbqs... great food and great company.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Denim skirt

I made this skirt a few weeks ago and don't really know what to pair it with.. I tried it with this last night for a more casual look, but not sure if I really like it.. it's a bit ballerina-esque, :) which isn't a bad thing.  I totally love that I put pockets on the skirt! Pockets are so playful.

Kapalua Village Trails

Today Eli and I drove out to Kapalua and did the Village Walking Trails.  We did the most "easy" trail since we didn't get out there until a little past 5 and the sunsets are much earlier these days. It was great afternoon exercise and even the "easy" trail got me huffing and puffing. :)  Next week we'll be back, much earlier of course and we'll make it to the pond. I heard the views there are amazing! Oh I can't wait!!

Love, S

p.s. Sorry for the crappy quality photos... I dont' know what's wrong with my camera!! :( It wasn't cooperating with me today.

Our "journey" begins...

Up we go...

On our way down, it began to drizzle...

Wait honey.... (parts of the trail were a bit steep, but I'm a scaredy cat!)

Leaving me in the dust! ha!

Fabulous Fetherston

Erin Fetherston's Spring 2010 collection is absolutely amazing! I want to own the whole collection.. but that is not going to happen. I am day dreaming about these pieces... oh so lovely!

Lady ShaGaga

~I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me.. papa-paparazzi!!~

I heart Lady Gaga and what better way to celebrate Halloween than to let my inner Gaga out!! This is my take on her outfit at this year’s VMA’s (minus the blood!!). I even had my own back up dancer - my hubby.  He even carried around and ipod (with a little lego speaker attached) and danced around me. Lucky me, that my hubby loves to dress up too and was totally into it.  And yes, we both fashioned our outfits... we made it just hours before going out last night.. I guess sometimes procrastination pays off, because our costumes came out great!!

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!
