I'm sure a lot of you have seen this current trend walking around your city or town. Here on Maui though, definitely not. I'm thinking if I should be the first one on the rock to rock the "flatform" trend? I'm on the fence. My feet are large, okay, not large, but they are wide. And my toes are stubby too. Let's not forget that I'm only 5'4". Do I really want to look like a duck walking around town?
Derek Lam's Stacked Wedge Platform would be the ideal flatform I'd want to try, but I don't want to pay a pretty penny for something this trendy. Lo and behold (no surprise here), Jeffrey Campbell to the rescue. The Suebee is a dead ringer, right? I'm so tempted!

A VERY HAPPY GIRL
Can you believe that today was the first day I could sleep in during my whole spring break?! I was a very happy girl this morning. I wish I could sleep in every day. The Pirate and I drove to the north side of the island and enjoyed a scrumptious brunch at Gazebo's in Napili. I haven't eaten at this place in years. Of course I had to have the eggs benny, hubby had the Popeye omelette, and we shared a short stack of the Mac Nut pancakes. The pancakes were out of this world... and topped with fresh whipped cream and coconut syrup. Are you drooling yet? :P
We caught a flick tonight, haven't done that in ages either. We watched Limitless (mmmm Mr. Cooper). I was expecting it to be a little more exciting. It was okay. I asked the Pirate if he would take the pill, and without even hesitating, he answered... yes. He asked if I would, but honestly, I don't think I would. For those of you that watched the movie, would you?
And here's what I wore out tonight. Nothing extraordinary. Everything is remixed. I haven't shopped lately. And no I'm not on a shopping ban. Those things don't work. At least not for me. I'm saving up for a bigger purchase... :)

p.s. I promise to stop posting about food so much. I feel like I've eaten so much food during this break. Yikes! What an oinker.

MY FAVORITE COLOR
Instinctively, my favorite color is pink, but weirdly enough, I don't really care for pink clothing. When I shop, I normally stay away from the pink items. Strange huh? I may have a new favorite color... so Pink's got some competition. I'm in love with leopard print (in the traditional colors). Yes, I'm aware it's not an actual color, but Crayola should consider making it into a crayon shade. :) Season after season, we see this "color" on the runways and look books. And even when it's "out of style/season", I'll still love it. I was inspired by my love of pink and leopard print and did some new nail art. Do you likey? I surely do. Do you have a favorite color?
Congrats to Stevie-Lyn of Hearts and Crafts. I'll be contacting you shortly to get your info. Thanks to everyone who entered. :)

YOU'RE SO BEEFY
Thank you lovelies for all the anniversary wishes. The Pirate and I truly appreciate all your kind words.
We continued our celebration with a delectable dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House. I'm not a huge fan of steak (or beef), but I've always wanted to eat at this restaurant. I'm so glad we went. The steak (I had a 16oz rib eye, like Whoa!) was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS! Every bite was mouthwatering. I could only eat half, but the left overs were even fabulous the next day. The prices are a bit steep, but totally worth it.
After enjoying this meal, I thought back to the time when I used to looove beef! Then in 2001, I swore off beef for nearly two years. It was for personal reasons, but at that time I felt like I was at my healthiest (inside and out). I guess the 4 - 5 days a week visits to the gym contributed to that as well. Beef slowly trickled back into my life and I have stints where I refuse to eat it, but after eating at Ruth's Chris, I might have to have a good piece of steak every now and then. Moderation is key, right? Oh and if you're wondering what the Pirate got, he got chicken. He always gets chicken. :D
Are you a beef eater? If so, what's your favorite cut? Preparation?

CHEERS TO TWO YEARS!
Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary to the love of my life!
The Pirate and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary today! Time sure flies when you're in love. We've been together for nearly 12 years and everyday with my bu is a fun adventure. Today, he took me on an adventure to the Surfing Goat Dairy farm in lower Kula. We had such a fun day there, visiting the gorgeous property, seeing baby goats, sampling delicious cheeses, and even hand feeding the most precious goats in the world! They were so gentle. It took me a few moments to "build up the courage" to let them eat from my palm, but when I finally relaxed (yes, I know I'm a drama queen!), they really were very gentle. I sorta want a pet goat now, but I couldn't just have one... I would need at least two. Did you know goats are very social animals, and very rarely will you ever see a goat by it's lonesome. I guess they're just like me and the Pirate, stuck to each other for life. :) Yeah Yeah, I'm so cheesey.
Speaking of cheese... the goat cheese the farm produces is out of this world! We got to sample quite a few cheeses and it was so hard to pick which ones to bring home. They produce over 30 different types of cheese. I was in fromage heaven! We ended up bringing home the Rolling Green (fresh garlic and chives), Ole! (jalapenos, artichokes, cilantro, lime juice), and Ping Pong balls (fresh Chevre in oil). The cheese here is so awesome that it was even served at President Obama's inauguration dinners.
After the goat farm, we frolicked around in the little town of Paia. I love Paia. It's so eclectic and some even say it's "granola"... but I love that place. Lots of yummy eateries and quaint boutiques. There's even a sign that says "Welcome to Paia, please do not feed the hippies". :) Cuuute. I definitely had a great day with my Pirate. I know more adventures lie ahead for us... and maybe in 9 months... ha ha ha kidding! Love you Honey. ELISHARON for life.

HAPPY SPRING
Happy 1st Day of Spring everyone! I hope the snow is melting in your part of the world. The flowers will be blooming very soon. :) I've had this dress for about a year now and this is only the 3rd time I've worn it and I got a huge grease stain on it. :( Yeah, I'm clumsy. I hope the cleaners can get it out. It was a super inexpensive dress, but I love the color and the fit, plus it has a super sweet lace detail in the back. I hope it can be saved.
Well, I just got home from Sushi-ing and the Pirate and I rented a movie... and also got a pint of B&J Chunky Monkey, my fav! Good night and sweet dreams, and for those of you on Spring Break, Happy Spring Break! Enjoy it, I know I will.

KISS ME. I'M IRISH.
I'm not really Irish.. the Pirate is, but you can't kiss him. That's my job. :)
I typed out a little rant about this child that would not stop screaming at dinner tonight, but then I deleted. Don't get me wrong, I love children, I just don't love it when they're screaming in my ear while I'm trying to enjoy my delicious Thai dinner. I especially don't like it when the parents do absolutely nothing to calm the child down!
I've had this tunic for years now and still love it to this day. I love the crocheted yoke and the fact that you can enjoy a delectable meal without the "food baby belly" making an appearance. Well, Happy St. Patty's day folks. Did you do anything fun to celebrate?

CREATURE OF HABIT
First off, I'd like to thank everyone for their positive thoughts and prayers. Our island suffered some damage, but nothing compared to what has happened to Japan. Everyone is still in my thoughts and prayers.
Do you have certain pieces in your wardrobe that you like to style a certain way, and only that way? Normally when I buy a new item, I like to come up with outfits in my head before making the purchase. If I can't wear it more than 3 ways, I usually put it back (unless it's something super inexpensive). I think clothing needs versatility, especially if you're going to pay a pretty penny for it. Don't you? Well, I think this outfit is quite similar to this one I wore back in January. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit, except I think I like today's look a little more than the last. I've also been drooling over this Chanel clutch from the Chanel~Shanghai collection, but since it's financial out of reach, my new necklace will have to do for now.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I've gathered more fabrics for the upcoming fashion show, but have yet to design or create a single pattern! I need a fire lit under my derriere fast! Wish me luck. It's crunch time.

Tsunami Warning... please be safe
I'm sure everyone has heard of the massive 8.9 earthquake that hit Japan..... Hawaii is now under a tsunami warning (the sirens are blaring as I type this) and the first waves that will hit (if it does come) will be at 2:59am tomorrow morning (3/11). I praying for everyone in Japan and here in Hawaii as well. Everyone please be safe. Love you all.
Update: (9:28a)... I've been in and out of consciousness since 3am when the first tsunami wave hit. At around 7:40a the tsunami warning was down graded to an advisory. We are not in the clear yet. Thank you for everyone's concern, thoughts, and prayers.

Giveaway: Orient Automatic Watch
Tardiness is never in fashion, but if you're going to show up late, you might as well do it in style. Right? Right. One thing that never goes out of style is a great timepiece. Orient offers a great selection of affordable watches for both men and woman; from classic to modern styles. There are even urban styles such as the CDBAA003A and the CEVAD003W.
If you're like me and struggle with promptness (something I'm not very proud of), you're in luck. Maybe a new timepiece will help you arrive on time and of course, in style. Orient is giving away one of their watches to one of my readers. I personally love the look of a woman's delicate wrist showcasing a larger watch (preferable men's style). One lucky winner will get to choose from one of the following watches:

In search of adventure
My inner child suggested that we go out and play today. I put on my shiniest ballet flat and headed out the door, in search of an adventure. As a child, I always wanted a swing set, especially a wood swing set! I knew the perfect place to go... the park at Giggle Hill in Haiku. Unfortunately, I didn't make it there because it started to rain... definitely not ideal for playtime fun at the park. Well, I was still able to get some things done. Got some fabric for the fashion show, Pooma got her hair did, and I scored Peeps! Yes, I'm a Peeps fan... sugar in sugar in sugar. Yum-o. Did you and your inner child do anything fun today?
Did I mention that it's still whale season here in Hawaii? It's something I love about our "winter" season. Today, I saw one breach three times in a row! And I even saw a baby and it's mama playing together and showing off their tails. I still get giddy anytime I see a whale. They are such amazing creatures. I also love their whale song... it's so magical. :) Is there anything you absolutely love about your winter time in your part of the world?

Just wanna make the world dance
I haven't been posting as much lately, because honestly, I feel like I'm in a fashion rut. I haven't shopped in months (okay, weeks) and feel like everything I put together is just plain 'ol BORING! Now, don't get me wrong, I stalk websites daily and window shop, but I feel like a lot of stuff I want are disposable pieces. Sure, they'll bring instant gratification, but I think I need to start adding more timeless/classic pieces to my wardrobe. First thing on the list, a classic black heel. Perhaps, this one or this one. Yes, I don't own a simple black heel. That's unheard of! Everyone woman has a black heel, right? I've also refrained from buying anything lately because I keep telling myself that I can make it, so why do I need to buy it? Now, it's just finding the time to make all these things that I want.
Don't worry, I'm still that girl that loves outrageous and impractical things (remember, I own 3 pairs of Lita's), but I'm slowly learning to contain the crazy-ness. And now, I present to you my boring outfit of the day. I had flats on earlier, but thought the look would be a little more interesting with heels.
